Presidential Physical Fitness


When:  10:00 am, Oct. 4, 2003

Where:  Malone College Track Field

Cost: $2 per child for ages 6 to 18

Ready to test your strength, flexibility, and endurance?  Take the President's Challenge!  Charlie Grimes, Malone track coach and CHESCA dad, will lead us through the 5 events (curl-ups, shuttle run, V-sit reach, right angle push-ups, and the endurance run) with the help of some Malone students.  For more information go to or call Susan Gardner at (330) 456-5229, for more details!




The HomeSchool Band that has been meeting at First Friends Church is now opening up to a new group of beginner students, 9 years and older for the fall semester.  Students with prior experience on their instruments may audition to enter the more advanced level.


Meeting time for this group will be Monday and Wednesday 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. from September to mid December.


There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at First Friends, on the stage of the multi ministry area, for anyone who might be interested in participating in this program.  We will be discussing fees, policies, and any questions you may have. Mouthpiece testing will take place on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. to help each student choose his or her instrument.


Instructors will be Joanna Martinez and Katherine Ayers, Christian mothers who both hold degrees in Music Education.

Classic Tunes & Tales
Build your child’s interest in classical music while developing their knowledge of the basic elements of music. The tunes are popular melodies selected from the works of the greatest composers in history. The tales are stories about the composers and their music. The words accompanying each tune help students remember facts about the music & composer. Class on Fridays.
