Standardized Testing
Standardized testing can be done several ways:
- It's possible to go through public school, but you must contact them concerning this and they tell you when and where.
- Obtain a test from a supplier and find a certified teacher (a list is available to CHESCA members) to administer your test.
- Arrange to have your child tested along with two or three other home-school children of same grade level to cut costs. Group testing is provided by the Alliance nurture group.
Note: Parents may perform assessments for their own use at any time. Some families might choose to perform an assessment prior to beginning to home educate. While any method might be used, low cost, parent administered diagnostics are available from Diagnostic Prescriptive Services.
Very Important!
Note: Send only a statement providing the composite score from a Standardized Test with your notification form when notifying your Superintendent for the next school year. Do NOT send your test with the notification! Do not send complete test results - only the composite must be reported. Here is an example:
